Hoa Lu was chosen as the first capital of the centralized feudal state when Dinh Bo Linh ascended the throne in 968... Chosen as the capital of Dai Co Viet for a short time, many events related to the destiny of the entire nation took place here, such as being associated with the careers of three consecutive dynasties, the Dinh Dynasty, the Early Le Dynasty and the Ly Dynasty, with historical marks. With the rolling mountainous terrain surrounding the capital's perimeter like a solid screen, along with the meandering Hoang Long stream, Hoa Lu became the political center and the first imperial capital of our country. Faced with fate and the demands of history, the capital was left, but the ancient capital of Hoa Lu continued to be built with solid architectural works with temples, pagodas, and shrines and is preserved to this day. The temples of King Dinh and King Le were built right on the foundation of the ancient capital.
King Dinh Tien Hoang Temple
King Dinh's temple was built in the style of "Foreign Noi Cong" on the foundation of the ancient main palace, majestic with the Ngo Mon Gate, lotus pond, Gia Mountain, flower garden, external ritual gate, internal ritual gate and three worshiping halls, incense burner and harem.
King Le's temple is smaller in scale but has three buildings: the worshiping hall and the incense burner to worship Pham Cu Luong, who helped Le Hoan ascend to the throne; Main palace - worshiping King Le Dai Hanh (ie Le Hoan) in the middle, on the right is Le Ngoa Trieu (son of King Le), on the left is Queen Duong Van Nga.
